a recent post and some photos by a reader of our site regarding Zellig and its use throughout Moroccan architecture and interior design brings to mind if Singaporean home owners could use it for interior decor.
What is zellig? Zellig is the Moroccan style of mosaicsm that brings out a colorful symmtry and patterns to Moroccan homes. It is made completely by handwork, and individual shapes are slowly styled and glued together to create dazzling shapes.
Is it practical for Singaporean homes to emulate Zellig? Unless you have tonnes of money, asking an artisan to do zellig in Singapore is financially impossible. An easy way out would be to build and build titles, but titles essentially are just boxes..
