recently a friend of mine has a family member with a spinal injury. very unfortunate event resulting in lower limb paralysis and a neurogenic bladder. he now requires 4 times a day intermittent catheterization.
the choice put plainly by the doctors is intermittent catheterization versus indwelling catheter, obviously the latter is a lot more convenient, but highly risk of urinary tract infection
i am writing this piece because of a niche market opening, that of private doctor and nursing house calls
she engaged this local private nursing agency, doctor house calls, home care company called Pan Medical Group, it is a registered company of doctors and nurses in singapore.. while the services don't come cheap, she said the services were professional but it is hard to book an appointment unless the client is regular
there are other nursing agencies in singapore, like nicole consultancy, sue's nurses and more.. but they don't have doctors in their teams..
good to have doctors doing house call to ensure things are good once in a while :)
